General Meeting Guidelines
MANY MEETINGS ARE CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19: The National Board of Trustees of Gamblers Anonymous have temporarily approved ZOOM meetings to count as regular meetings.
Anonymity is the Spiritual Foundation of the Gamblers Anonymous Program. While you are free to tell anyone of your membership you do not know if that may cause harm to another. It is especially important in this time when we are virtually entering each other’s homes to be mindful of who else may be in and around you. Virtual backgrounds cause shadowing and strange light effects, please refrain from using them whenever possible. If you must move around, please turn off your video screen. We would not walk around or be distracting in a regular setting.
Most of GA regular guidelines and practices apply such as:
Please refrain from using dollar amounts in your therapy
No borrowing or lending of money to other GA members
Do not mention crimes in which you may still be prosecuted
If we are to recover, we must feel free to say what is in our minds and hearts. Therefore, "Who you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here.”
Some meeting rooms have scheduled dial-in meetings - see the meeting list for more information
